I am an inquisitive individual always looking to create innovative solutions to impact lives. I firmly believe that the true essence of modern technology is to employ it in creating solutions that can benefit society. To this end, I have utilized deep learning architectures to establish a communication medium for the deaf; as well as created a venture leveraging blockchain technology, by proposing a decentralized car-dealing platform to resolve the trust gap in the used-car market. This has also led to my recognition as an Innovative Individual by the Ministry of Economy in the UAE. Additionally, working in a collaborative environment to tackle challenges on global platforms such as the Hult Prize and Seaside Startup Summit, has helped me develop a multi-perspective approach to analyze problems and come up with viable solutions. Political Data Science Intern
Worked as a Political Data Science intern in the Peace and Development Unit, under the Office of the UN Resident Coordinator, Kenya. Projects: • Devised the product roadmap for the Kenya Crisis Risk Dashboard (CRD) data product, to strengthen early warning and response systems. • Analyzed 40k tweets to find incendiary sources of violence for conflict mediation in Kenya by-election using Natural Language Processing. • Produced Power BI dashboards to support evidence-informed decision-making for Senior Leadership at UN HQ, RCO & country level. • Collaborated with the UN IT team & RCO Kenya to build a database and cloud services to facilitate the PDU’s data analytics work. • Liaised with external partners including World Bank, International Crisis Group and Government of Kenya to ensure input and analysis on COVID-19 impact on UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
