At the Dairy Unit I have several different responsibility that fall under my position. I am responsible for talking care of the calves that are born at the unit. This includes preparing the milk re-placer, feeding the calves, watering and cleaning hutches. I am also responsible for milking and moving the cows to the parlor. The milking process involves setting up the milking parlor, pushing up feed and collecting colostrum from fresh cows and heifers.

As a volunteer for the Turtle Rescue Team I am responsible for volunteering at different events that help to advertise this program. I am also responsible for providing daily medical treatments to the different patients and taking care of their daily husbandry requirements. As a volunteer I also help to rehabilitate different turtles and get them to a stage where they are able to be released back into the wild.

Lifeguard

During my time working for the Fred Smith Company I work as a lifeguard and then was promoted to a life guard assistant manager. I was responsible for watching the pool guests, enforcing facility rules, helping any injured members and taking part in the maintenance required to keep the pool up and running. As a assistant manager I had to be a leader to the other lifeguards and make sure they were following the correct protocols at all times.

Women in Science and Engineering (Wise) Mentor

As a WISE Mentor I was assigned a group of fifteen freshman women and was responsible for helping them adjust to college life. I was responsible for holding six different programs each semester, attending staff meetings, holding monthly WISE events and managing a budget for my events. I was also responsible for checking in with my mentees to make sure that they were having successful semesters and if not I had to work with them and I my supervisor to help improve it in any way that I could.

During my internship at the Museum of Natural Science I had the opportunity to work in the Window on Animal Health. There I was responsible for performing yearly physicals on a variety of animals, collecting different sample which I would then test in the lab and help to analyze and helped perform and record vitals during surgeries. I was also responsible for providing medications to these different animals and performing their daily husbandry requirement. As an internship I was also responsible for communicating with the museum visitors who had questions during the different physicals and surgeries.
