Shobi Ahmed, MD, PhD, is a physician-scientist and historian-anthropologist working at the intersection of precision medicine, artificial intelligence, and neurotechnology. Shobi is the founder and CEO of Sama Therapeutics, which seeks to transform outcomes in both routine care and clinical trials for complex patients — synthesizing more objective, generative AI-powered biomarkers to eliminate trial-and-error — beginning with neuropsychiatry. In the last three years, Sama's team has been leveraging a massively multimodal approach and cross-disciplinary skillset across systems biology and machine learning to push the boundaries of biomedical innovation.
