Shadow veterinarians, sit on patient rounds, shadow a necropsy, and attend training classes.

Student Researcher

UC Davis Vet-Med-Dr. Borjesson's Lab · UC Davis Veterinary Medicine School

Work in Dr. Borjesson’s lab focusing on mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) therapeutic use, function, and immunomodulation. Conduct laboratory immunology and biomarker assays to understand function of animal mesenchymal stem cells. Focusing on a project to understand the therapeutic effects mesenchymal stem cells may have on equine recurrent uveitis, an autoimmune disease in horses, through en-vivo and in-vitro work. Work in the lab includes: field work, isolating and culturing animal stem cells, conducting biomarker and functional assays, and using Flow Cytometry and ELISA analysis to understand cell function and markers.
