The Peer Advocate Office (PAO) helps inform students of existing resources and advocates on behalf of students when they face barriers to accessing existing resources on campus. This is an entirely student-led initiative in which upper-level undergraduate students serving as Peer Advocates will direct students in need of support to the appropriate resources on Emory's campus, develop an advocacy strategy, and advocate on behalf of the student if necessary. As an Engagement Coordinator, I take the PAO's mission a step further through leading efforts to inform the student body about the initiative itself. I structure strategies to target student populations and form personal connections with students who may require campus resources. I manage tabling at events across Emory that provide students with information regarding the PAO's ability to create an efficient and effective plan to advocate for student needs.

Peer Health Partner

The Peer Health Partner (PHP) program encourages students to share strategic, personalized approaches to a healthy lifestyle with their peers. With mentorship from Human Health core faculty, Peer Health Partners gain essential knowledge in the science of health, experiential training in health education, and significant professional skill development. In my time as a Peer Health Partner, I have taught HLTH 100: "It’s Your Wellbeing” through facilitating discussions and leading structured activities to improve understanding of health concepts crucial for college life. I create unique and practical ways to connect with one’s emotional, relational, professional, physical, and financial wellbeing through specific lessons on topics like stress management, sleep hygiene, nutrition, and mindfulness. I focus on creating a health vision based on promotive health behaviors while acting as a health advocate to guide freshmen to on-campus resources.

The Coalition for Global Health Innovation (CGHI) is a global, youth-led nonprofit bringing together a diverse, multidisciplinary community of young professionals and emerging leaders from across 6 continents. We empower our members to transform innovative ideas into actionable projects, advancing equity and inclusion in global health. I am the founding Head of Recruitment and primary social media manager of the Atlanta branch, CGHI's first in-person sector. I form strategies to recruit students across Georgia and maintain member engagement with the organization. I create social media posts promoting our events and resources and table at events to showcase our work. I also assist with creating blogs, social media campaigns, and publications relating to areas of global health.

The Ethics and Servant Leadership (EASL) Forum shapes and forms future community leaders by teaching servant leadership to and promoting ethically engaged practice by Emory students, faculty, administrators, and staff. The EASL program aids, inspires, and supports all members of the Emory community in striving to serve and lead for the common good. As a weekly academic-year program focused on service, community building, and leadership development, EASL focuses on four areas: integrity, personal growth, bridge building, and community engagement. The Forum meets weekly for two-hour collaborative sessions that provide students with the skills and knowledge to become future community leaders. During my first year in the program, I helped plan and execute a volunteering excursion for the Environmental Education Alliance and Monarchs Across Georgia to teach youth about the monarch migration.

Emory Mock Trial is a student-run undergraduate trial advocacy team that competes as a part of the American Mock Trial Association (AMTA). It is a team of students from all academic backgrounds, joined by a love for public speaking, theatre, writing, and debate. I act as a competing member of the program, often writing scripts and performing as both a witness and attorney.

Empire Mock Trial

Empire Mock Trial is an education nonprofit that offers academic extracurricular programs for high school students. Empire challenges students intellectually, while encouraging them to embrace their peers from across the globe rather than treat them as opponents. They place a premium on competition integrity, with transparent tabulation and instant online results. Through its programs and mission, Empire strives to educate, connect and empower young people to be more compassionate and capable citizens. During my internship, I researched and compiled contact information into a database for 200+ trial attorneys and law firms in Pennsylvania including Philadelphia, Montgomery, and Bucks counties to arrange a judge roster for the inaugural mock trial competition in Philadelphia.

Supported 20+ high school students on varsity A and B teams throughout preparation, practices, and competitions emulating trial court cases. Wrote trial scripts of openings, closings, direct examinations, cross-examinations, and oral arguments based on case files for both the prosecution and defense. Led varsity A team to first-ever Pennsylvania State competition appearance, placing in the top half of competitors.
