About

I was born and raised in Kaneohe, Hawaii, but have since lived in Oregon, Colorado, Western New York, and Georgia. I earned my BS in Microbiology (2007) and DVM (2012) from Colorado State University and have practiced as an emergency and shelter small animal veterinarian. During my PhD and anatomic pathology residency at the University of Georgia, I expanded on my interests in infectious disease and diagnostic pathology. My work focused on arboviral diseases of white-tailed deer, and my broader interests focus on infectious diseases of wildlife and livestock, particularly transboundary disease. Other professional interests include contributing to the progress of veterinary medicine towards a more diverse, inclusive, and mentally well profession. I have specialized training in coaching and mentoring and look forward to sharing the world of veterinary medicine and pathology with others.
