I am a recent graduate from NC State Veterinary School with a passion for emergency and critical care medicine. My specific interests include endocrine disease management, polytrauma cases, and neurologic diseases in companion animals. June of 2024, I started honing my skills as an emergency veterinarian through the emERge program at BluePearl. I am very passionate about mentorship and client communication to help improve patient outcomes. In this position, I assisted the leading doctors with multiple projects to forward the research of the lab. I utilized research techniques such as pipetting, autoclaving, plate streaking, etc. to formulate and execute a research project under the supervision of a lead doctor. At the end of the program I submitted an abstract and presented a poster at the National Veterinary Scholars Symposium in St. Paul, MN.

Veterinary Technician Assistant

During this position, I averaged 40 hours/week during summer months/holidays. I worked primarily within the surgery specialty, but also gained experience in internal medicine, ophthalmology, emergency, and ICU. My role required me to prepared patients for surgery, monitor anesthesia during procedures, aid in recovery from anesthesia as well as performed any needed post-operative treatments. Skills acquired include placing IV catheters, running ICU treatments, administering epidurals, and running diagnostics.
