About
I own a cat only practice in Alexandria VA. I realized that I wanted to be a veterinarian in high school and decided I wanted to work with cats exclusively when I was in veterinary school. Upon graduation from Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine, I worked in Chicago for a year at a mixed practice. In 2005, my husband's job moved us to northern VA. It was there that I came across Kingstowne Cat Clinic. I worked as an associate at KCC for 12 years before buying the practice in 2018. At KCC, we practice excellent medicine and are passionate about taking care of cats and their owners. We believe that our vast knowledge of cats and their medical needs makes us one of the best in the field. Experience
Business Owner and Veterinarian
Kingstowne Cat Clinic · Alexandria, Virginia, United States
Present
I worked as a full time associate veterinarian at KCC for 12 years. Working full time at KCC lead me to be offered to purchase the clinic in 2018. I've been working hard to keep the well established Kingstowne Cat Clinic going strong and better every year. We take pride in community outreach projects including sponsoring high school teams, fundraisers for local shelters and community pet fairs. I started out as a veterinarian but I've evolved in to a small business owner, leader, philanthropist, friend, wife, mother and cat owner. I'm excited to share my life experiences and pass along advice to others in my life.
Associate Veterinarian
Kingstowne Cat Clinic · Alexandria, Virginia, United States
Diagnosed and treated feline only patients as well as performed minor soft tissue surgery. As an associate I was not an owner but the owners allowed me to learn from them and primed me for future ownership.
Relief Veterinarian
Various Mixed Practices in Northern VA
I performed routine exams, diagnosed and treated diseases. I also performed basic surgery on dogs/cats. It was a good thing for me to do as I got a chance to see many clinics in a short amount of time. I was able to decided where and when I wanted to work. I recommend relief medicine when you arrive to an unfamiliar area and not sure where you want to work.
