In 2014 I graduated from Miami Dade Community College with my Associate in Arts Degree. In Fall of that year, I began a new journey by enrolling at University of Florida, majoring in Zoology and minoring in Nonprofit Organizational Leadership. By attending UF, I opened many doors that helped shape my beliefs and pushed me to my goals. Volunteering at Animal Services became a main pivot point that taught me the fundamentals of Veterinary Medicine. Here, my passion for helping animals and saving lives began to flourish. I gained respect the intense involvement of caring for pets while also understanding the fragility of cruelty cases. My responsibilities varied from matching customers with their new forever companion to monitoring pets during surgeries. I appreciate all aspects of shelter medicine; the cases with painful beginnings emphasize the importance of cherishing the happy endings.
