I was the managing veterinarian for this beautiful zoological garden from 2001-2002. I was responsible for managing the medical needs of the collection, along with working alongside the director and general curator. I facilitated the introduction of the California Condor into the collection and provided veterinary resources for the Channel Island fox program. The collection boasted many endanged species including apes, giant anteaters (we had the oldest living giant anteater in captivity at the time), pachyderms, artiodactylids, birds of prey, reptiles and fish.
