As a small animal general practitioner with Page Point Animal Hospital and Pet Resort, I aim to provide high quality, low stress care and medicine to the small animal population of the Raleigh-Durham area. Our team is well-educated and well-equipped to collaborate with pet-parents to ensure our patients are receiving the best possible care year-round through practicing preventative care, prioritizing client education, and recommending and performing modernized surgeries and minimally invasive procedures (e.g. laparoscopic spay, prophylactic dental cleanings with intraoral radiography, incisional and laparoscopic-assisted gastropexy, ultrasonography, echocardiography). Large Animal Emergency Surgery Team Captain

The University of Georgia - College of Veterinary Medicine · Athens, Georgia

Assisted with board certified surgeons during emergency surgeries, which included induction and positioning of animals for surgical procedures. Gained proficiency in nonsterile and sterile preparation of various surgical sites (e.g., abdomen, limbs, head). Technical skills accrued from this position include: passing urinary catheters, placing intravenous catheters, performing line blocks for standing bovine surgeries, suturing, and safely moving animals into recovery stalls. Gained knowledge of large animal anatomy through being involved in various surgeries (i.e. exploratory laparotomy for colic, OCD, arthroscopy, dystocia, fracture repair). Nominated to serve as Captain of this distinguishable team for two years.

Worked amongst a team of students setting over 20 hours per week to manage a herd of 80+ Quarter Horses. Utilized people management skills to facilitate daily feeding, watering, and stable cleaning. Practiced wound management and appropriate administration of intramuscular, intravenous, and subcutaneous vaccinations and medications under the guidance of the college veterinarian, Dr. Martin Goldberg. Enforced quarantine protocols and proper biosecurity for ill horses and those being introduced into the herd.

Summer Intern

COUNTRYSIDE EQUINE VETERINARY SVC INC · Rome, GA

Worked with two licensed equine veterinarians to provide routine health care to various horse farms around Northwestern Georgia. Refined knowledge of equine anatomy and physiology, nutrition, epidemiology/disease control, and safe handling through assisting both veterinarians in the field. Performed field diagnostics including Coggins testing, digital nerve blocks and lameness examinations, neurologic assessments, digital radiology and ultrasonography, and field surgical procedures (e.g. Caslicks procedure, castration, laceration repair). Worked approximately 40-50 hours/week under the supervision of licensed professionals.
