Dr. Katrina Spies has been actively serving the Northern Virginia community for over 15 years as a small animal emergency veterinarian. While she found it rewarding to assist animals in emergent situations, she often felt limited in her ability to provide comprehensive, ongoing care and pain management for many senior or lame patients. Driven by her desire to improve the quality of life for these pets, Dr. Spies pursued extensive training in integrative medicine starting in 2020. She earned certifications as a Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Veterinarian (CHPV), Certified Canine Rehabilitation Veterinarian (CCRV), and Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist (CVA). Additionally, she has completed coursework and aims to soon be certified as a Certified Veterinary Pain Practitioner (CVPP), Certified Veterinary Chinese Herbalist (CVCH), and Certified Veterinary Food Therapist (CVFT).
