I started working at AUCVM Necropsy as a Student Worker in undergrad and still help out while in Veterinary School. I am responsible for accepting necropsy requests, organizing biopsies, assisting in necropsies on the necropsy floor, training new employees, and courier pickup at local clinics. This job has allowed me to learn proper knife handling and the skills I will need to do necropsies in the field.

At Shoals Area Veterinary Emergency Hospital I worked as a veterinary assistant as well as receptionist. I quickly learned how to work in an up-beat high stake environment. I was responsible for a patient from the time the owner called until checkout. I gained experience in critical care, starting fluid lines, surgery prep and assistance, clipping and cleaning wounds, radiograph technique, ensuring all patients recieved proper medication, and client interactions. While working here I learned how to talk to clients in a high stress environment when they brought in a sick or injured animal.
