I lead John Deere energy procurement and sustainability initiatives as Manager, Energy Procurement and Sustainability. My work focuses on advancing the company's energy supply strategy, continuing to achieve global Scope 1-2 (operations) public greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction goals, and driving Scope 3 decarbonization in our supply chain.As goal leader since 2012, I built cross-functional teams and our Clean Energy Principles to guide us. From that disciplined approach, we have reduced nearly 2/3 of our operations emissions to date, with energy portfolio cost savings at the same time. This only can come from great teams! My personal contribution is corporate decarbonization strategy, global energy market and regulatory experience, expertise with power purchase agreements (PPAs) and VPPAs, energy efficiency programs, and developing corporate GHG goals through the executive suite.
