Emergency Veterinarian in a high-volume urban referral hospital with widely varied clientele where I rotate through overnight, swing, and day ER shifts, as well as shifts at our suburban hospital which is primarily day ER and urgent care. Average 15+ triages per shift and have primary responsibility for inpatient care for ER/CC cases (usually 8-15 primary ER inpatients), as well as for specialty inpatients (surgery, internal medicine, oncology, dentistry) overnight and on weekends (usually 18-25 inpatients total). Work closely with Richmond Animal Care and Control to provide medical care to stray, abandoned and mistreated cats and dogs, as well as going to court as an expert witness for cruelty cases when applicable.
