About

From as far back as I can remember, I wanted to work with as many species of animals as possible. I have always been driven by the conservation of endangered species and its ideology of biodiversity, ecosystem health and preserving natural wonders of our world. My undergraduate degree in Zoology taught me both molecular techniques for classifying all organisms and the large-scale view of how populations of different species interact, affect, and manipulate each other’s behaviors to survive. In earning my doctoral degree in veterinary medicine (DVM), I was fascinated by infectious conditions spread by conspecific animals and how they could be transmitted between other animals and humans. Zoonotic disease has been a recurring theme of my veterinary interests.
