About

I attended college at Truman State University (Kirksville, Missouri) where I majored in Biology and was enrolled in the Army ROTC program. I graduated from there with a B.S. in Biology and a minor in Military Science in 1997. I then served in the United States Army Medical Service Corps for six years, where I achieved the rank of Captain. While in the Army, I was stationed at Fort Bragg in the 82nd Airborne Division. I served overseas in Afghanistan with the 82nd. Shortly thereafter I decided to pursue a career as a veterinarian as I enjoyed medicine and working with animals. I moved to Raleigh in 2003 and worked as a veterinary assistant to gain experience for vet school. After graduating veterinary school at North Carolina State in 2009, I completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine in Blacksburg, VA.
