In my role as a Software Developer on the Starburst data platform team, I led the design and development of systems built on the Trino/Starburst query engine, spanning catalog architecture and creation, query optimization, and ETL pipelines into on-prem object storage (NetApp StorageGRID). I owned the end-to-end design of performance-critical components, including a multi-layer caching subsystem leveraging object storage and AI-driven intelligent caching to reduce query latency significantly. Beyond core data systems, I designed and built backend APIs for low-latency data access, internal CI/CD tooling with automated validation for Starburst deployments, and platform services such as centralized credential management, a management control unit for configuration lifecycle, an operational control plane, and a secure file-sharing portal.
