Founded and lead the first Taekwondo club in UTEP’s history, transforming it into a nationally recognized competitive team within a single semester. • Built the organization from the ground up as a freshman, achieving official recognition and institutional funding in record time. • Led the team to win two silver medals at the Texas State Team Trials and one gold medal at the NCTA World University Games Team Trials, resulting in the first UTEP Taekwondo athlete in history to qualify for the FISU World University Games (2025). • Secured Coach Mario Romero (former head coach of Mexico’s national university team) as the club’s official coach and established OTT Taekwondo as the training facility. • Obtained national visibility, with the club followed by major university teams including UT Austin, UC Berkeley, and Penn State. • Coordinated media coverage with Canal 44 (Mexican National TV) to increase exposure and institutional pride. • Awarded ‘New Student Organization of the Year 2025’ by…

Emergency Medicine Volunteer

Present

Volunteering in the Emergency Department (triage area) at IMSS, gaining exposure to a wide range of clinical cases in an acute care hospital setting. • Participate actively in supervised clinical learning, including guided abdominal palpation, cardiac auscultation, and observation of triage and patient management processes. • Document and reflect on clinical cases weekly, including trauma, cardiovascular emergencies, pediatric cases, complex surgical conditions, psychiatric presentations, and chronic disease management. • Develop clinical reasoning, communication skills, and understanding of team-based patient care in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. • Committed to maintaining this experience longitudinally during academic semesters and future summers. • Part of my premedical training and preparation for Harvard Medical School, focused on developing clinical awareness, discipline, and service.

Volunteer Undergraduate Research Assistant

At the MINER Laboratory on the Department Of Kinesiology At The University Of Texas At El Paso, I actively collaborate with PhD students on advanced research initiatives focused on cardiometabolic health and exercise physiology, leveraging continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) systems for real-time data analysis. I am currently authoring an abstract titled “Effects of Eight Weeks of Combined Exercise Training on Glycemic Control in Adults: CGM-Based Analysis,” under the mentorship of Dr. Sudip Bajpeyi, to be presented at the 2025 COURI Symposia. This role has strengthened my expertise in clinical data collection, statistical interpretation, and scientific communication, while contributing to research aimed at improving metabolic health outcomes through structured exercise interventions.
