VCA Great Lakes Veterinary Specialists is a Veterinary Emergency and Specialty hospital located in a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio. We focus on providing the best specialty and emergency care to our feline and canine patients and have a strong commitment to excellent client experience. We do not provide general veterinary services, boarding, or grooming at this facility. Our hospital, formerly known as the Veterinary Referral Clinic, was originally founded in 1988 by Dr. James Prueter as a 4800 sq. ft. specialty only clinic. The hospital's services were expanded in 2003 to add on 24hr emergency services. In July of 2011 VRC changed ownership and became a proud member of the VCA family. In late 2013, VCA invested in the relocation of Great Lakes Veterinary Specialists to a newly renovated space with approximately 15,000 sq. ft.
