Our vision is a world without plastic pollution, where communities, especially in coastal and river regions, have access to safe, dignified waste management. We believe this is possible through a circular economy that values recovery, transparency, and shared responsibility. CleanHub was born from our founders’ firsthand experiences with ocean plastic pollution. As avid surfers and travellers, Joel and Florin witnessed plastic washing up on beaches in places with no formal waste systems. It was a wake-up call. They committed to finding a scalable, systemic solution — to stop plastic from getting into the ocean in the first place. We chose to focus on plastic recovery, rather than traditional recycling or waterways cleanups, because the problem starts earlier: where no collection system exists.
