How to Find Viral Posts and Make Them Yours (Without Copying)

Step-by-step workflow: find high-engagement posts in your niche, extract the format, rewrite in your voice, and schedule — using Origami's Content tab or manual tools.

Quick answer: Find viral posts by searching your niche with an engagement floor (e.g. 200+ likes in 90 days), cluster by format (not topic), then Make It Yours by swapping in your story, numbers, and POV — never paste their sentences. Origami's Content tab automates discovery + drafting; manual search works for your first 10 examples.

"Make it yours" is not a vibe — it is a repeatable workflow. Here is the exact loop.

Step 1: Define the search (15 minutes)

Write one sentence:

"Posts that worked for [ICP] about [problem you solve] on [platform] in the last [90] days."

Example: "Posts that worked for seed founders about outbound/list-building on LinkedIn in the last 90 days."

Set an engagement floor so you are not modeling mid posts:

  • LinkedIn: 150–500+ reactions (lower if your niche is tiny)
  • X: likes relative to author size — a 400-like post from a 3k account is a real outlier

Step 2: Collect 30+ candidates (don't stop at five)

Five posts is a mood board. Thirty posts is a pattern library.

Manual path: keyword search, sort by recent, spreadsheet columns for hook / format / engagement.

Origami path: Open Content mode → tell the agent your ICP + platform → it builds What's Working idea sets (clustered tabs like "contrarian takes", "playbooks", "founder stories") with Save / Not for me / Make it yours on each post.

Step 3: Cluster by format (the step everyone skips)

Tag each post:

  • Contrarian
  • Numbered list
  • Story → lesson
  • Build-in-public
  • Mini-playbook / thread

Pick the one cluster with the highest average engagement for your size band — that is your first format to steal.

Step 4: Extract structure (not text)

For the post you chose, write a skeleton:

Hook: [pattern only — e.g. "We lost $X because Y"]
Beat 1: context (2 lines max)
Beat 2: mistake or insight
Beat 3: numbered steps OR turning point
Close: one-line takeaway + soft CTA

If you cannot describe the skeleton without copying their words, you are still copying.

Step 5: Make it yours in the studio

Fill the skeleton with:

  • Your metrics (even small ones — "3 demos" beats "lots of traction")
  • Your customer language (how buyers describe the pain on calls)
  • Your product truth (no fake case studies)

In Origami: click Make it yours on an inspiration post → side-by-side studio opens → agent drafts into the editor (not the chat bubble) → you edit live → Schedule when ready.

Origami does not auto-publish. You post manually — which keeps platforms from flagging automation and keeps you accountable for what goes out under your name.

Step 6: Schedule and iterate hooks

Schedule 2–3 drafts for the week. After publish:

  • If impressions flop but saves are high → hook problem, core value OK
  • If nothing → wrong format for your audience; pick a different cluster next week

Ethical lines (non-negotiable)

OK Not OK
Same list structure, your bullets Same hook with one word changed
"Inspired by X's playbook format" mentally Screenshot their post + minimal edits
